I think people procrastinate because they want to do more important things or want to relax. They don't wanna waste the time that they spend on Leisure activities.
I believe that procrastination is more harmful because people often procrastinate on the things they have to do, do the laundry, do the dishes, and do the homework. if procrastinate on these things they will wear dirty cloth, attract ants and cockroaches, and get blamed by the teacher.
while procrastination can lead to negative consequences, there may be some benefits to it. For example, we usually shop online if we delay the time to check the bill, we will think twice and possibly save money.
I remember a time when I procrastinated on buying dinner, I wanted to use my computer. after 20 minutes, a friend called me and ask me to go out for dinner with him, he'll treat me. I ended up getting a free dinner.
