They learnt English as children and were never taught the rules of grammar at school. 🙋‍♂ Furthermore, I have a nice British accent. 🏆 In fact, my accent quickly improved when I first visited overseas 2️⃣0️⃣ years ago. I began to deliberately speak clearly, carefully pronouncing every word so that people could understand me more easily. This quickly became my normal speech. Finally, I am a patient person. 😃 Some children are much happier showing me their toys 🎮, in comparison to reading from a book or learning an English story for school. However, this is very normal. I allow the children to release their excitement as they show me such toys and pets 🐶, or tell me about their weekend, before guiding them back to the tasks required in our lesson. In fact, many intelligent children 👶 do not even need my help to do their school homework. They are clever 👩‍🎓 enough to do it themselves, answering the questions often quicker than I can.
