My Vietnamese learning Journey with teacher Linh By Sophie Beaumont

My journey in learning Vietnamese began with a desire to explore the rich culture and language of Vietnam after reminiscing with my best friend about her travels around the world. After some initial research, I decided to find a professional teacher who could guide me in learning all things Vietnamese.

That’s when I discovered Linh (or Lily, as she uses the Westernized version of her name sometimes) on AT. Even though we’ve only been working together for a few months, Linh has already made a significant impact on my learning journey. Her teaching style is both enjoyable and easy to understand, making the complexities of the Vietnamese language feel more approachable.

From the very beginning, Linh has been patient and encouraging, helping me build a strong foundation in pronunciation and basic conversation. Despite the challenges that come with learning a tonal language, Linh has always been there to guide me through any difficulties, providing clear explanations and practical examples. As I already study Thai, the tonal aspect of the language is less daunting for me.

One of the things I appreciate most about Linh is her ability to make lessons enjoyable and relevant. She has truly helped me learn not just the language, but also how it’s spoken in everyday life.
Although we’ve only been working together for a short time, I’m excited about the progress I’ve made and look forward to continuing my Vietnamese journey with Linh. I’m confident that, with her guidance, I’ll achieve my language goals.

I am grateful for the support and expertise Linh has provided so far and look forward to our future classes together.
