Today we had an overview of the novel "1984" by George Orwell. Julia compared The Handmaid's Tale with 1984, showing me the similarities and differences. She also gave me insights into how the removal of language and the establishment of a totalitarian state can control its people. Time flies whenever I have a session with Julia. Thank you.

Julia shared with me a journal article about The Handmaid's Tale. It illuminates the power of language and the language of power. It mentions that there are three language structures present in The Handmaid's Tale. The language is used as a political, psychological, private, and literary tool to control aspects of each person's life in Gilead. The theoretical base is founded on Lacan and Freud. We had a great time discussing the article. Thank you, Julia.
